Resources for the Journey

  • It is very important to strengthen your fellowship with and knowledge of our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ through His word during the healing process. The process is excruciating for both the survivors and the support people in their lives, so it is imperative to keep a biblical perspective in front of our eyes. All of this is working for the Lord’s satisfaction, to give ourselves completely to Him, so that He can have a pure and spotless Bride.

  • This is a teaching series by Pastor Doug Riggs which he recommended to Nick and I to give us context for suffering and the eternal purposes of God.

You can find this series here from dougriggs.org:

  • This book by DeVern Fromke explains how we tend to think of God in terms of what He has done for us rather than what His eternal purpose is and His satisfaction.

You can find this book here.

  • This book by Miles Stanford describes the phases of the Christian walk, living and maturing by the life of Christ rather than our own efforts to “be a Christian”.

You can find the book here.

  • These two books by Major Ian Thomas come complete in one book and go hand in hand. Thomas explains that the Christian life is impossible and there is only one man who did and can live it - Jesus Christ. In very practical ways, Thomas teaches how to lay down our soul life and live by the life of Christ Jesus.

You can find this book here.

  • This book by T. Austin Sparks explains the war that has been going on for worship - who is going to get it? God is the only one deserving worship but Satan has been trying to get it since his rebellion.

You can see a digital version of the book here.

  • This teaching by Dan Rumberger talks about how important it is to have a Biblical world view, especially in the West because the “spiritual” is often downplayed in favor of “science” and “rationalism.”

You can find this teaching here.

  • There are a lot of perspectives on SRA/DID so it can be confusing to know what to follow in the healing process. The resources given here are from people who have worked in this field for many years, seeking the Lord every step of the way. These resources have all played an integral role in my healing process. We pray they will bless you as well.

  • This is a conference that Pastor Doug Riggs and Amanda Byes held in Hawaii to train pastors and leaders to help people who were SRA/DID.

Doug did put his disclaimer on dougriggs.org:

“Disclaimer: Though we can endorse our combined ministry with Kanaan Ministries over the last seven years, we cannot endorse their recent departure to utilizing New Age "scientific" techniques now employed by them which we believe to be detrimental to the healing process (see Deuteronomy 18:10-11).”

You can find the series here.

  • This is a message by Dan Rumberger who explains that working with survivors with DID is doing “inner world missions" which requires time and trust.

He also explains what DID is. Though Dan presents a lot of good information, we (Nick & Julie) don’t fully agree with his methodology for healing.

    Hear the message here.

  • This is a message that Pastor Doug Riggs gave in 1994 to show what SRA/DID is today and why we need to address it, comparing it to the Jebusite stronghold in the Body of Christ.

You can find the message here and also on dougriggs.org under the SRA/DID section and Intro to SRA/DID.

  • This is a message by Pastor Doug Riggs who counseled SRA/DID survivors for over 35 years. In it he shares the biblical foundation for why he and his wife, Lori, continued on year after year amidst great warfare and heartache.

    Find the message here.

  • The is a message that Pastor Doug Riggs gave on the fall of Lucifer, the capturing of children by Satan in SRA/DID, and the heart of God.

    You can find it here.

  • This is a book by Jim Frieson, one of the pioneers in working with survivors of satanic ritual abuse resulting in dissociative identity disorder, formerly called multiple personality disorder (MPD).

Although this book is dated, it is a good reference point for understanding what DID is and what SRA is. The process for healing from it, however, we (Nick & Julie) do not fully agree with.
